Meet the team

Sheena holds a Master’s degree in piano performance teaching from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Music with Honors from the University of Waikato, New Zealand.

As a passionate and dynamic piano teacher, she has helped students achieve top results, including A+ Honors in AMEB examinations and Distinctions in ANZCA, ABRSM, and Trinity piano exams. She also teaches piano at St Francis Xavier College and works as an Instrumental Group music teacher.

Teaching Philosophy and Pedagogical Approach: With nine years of teaching experience, I have worked with students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced performers. My lessons blend classical and light jazz styles, tailored to each student’s unique interests and needs. I use innovative techniques to make learning engaging and enjoyable while building a strong foundation in music theory and performance. 

Sheena's accomplishments include a notable performance of a piano solo concert at the "Listen and Breathe Concert: Pianoscapes" for the University of Melbourne Mental Health Day. She served as a guest pianist at Cantando Choir's 30th Anniversary concert, where she performed *Petite Messe Solonelle* by Rossini in August 2018. Additionally, she received the Wallace Group Blues Award for creative and performing arts in both 2017 and 2018 and secured 2nd place in the University of Waikato Chamber Competition in June 2017. In the Douglas Lilburn Composition Trust Competition, Sheena achieved joint 1st place for both the best composition prize for her piece "Piano Trio - Dilemma" and the best performance prize in 2017. She has also performed in various lunchtime concert series at the University of Waikato, as well as at Hamilton Mayer’s concert and the University of Waikato's "Carnival of Music" concert between 2016 and 2020.
